Week 10 Trying to make the best of it!

Week 9 and week 10 have been the worst week by far. I was hospitalized on August 8th to August 11th. I went in for severe stomach pains and blood in my vomit. I was admitted automatically for internal bleeding without ant test done. I also found out I was 8 weeks pregnant on top of it. My husband and I where in shock this was not in our plans. I was soon transferred out to another hospital 45 mins away by ambulance to see a GI Specialist. Lots of blood was drawn every four hours because my hemoglobin was low, blood pressure low, and my thyroid levels low. I did have an endoscopy done there was no severe bleeding like thought my stomach however was inflamed severely. I also had an abdominal ultrasound, pelvic ultrasound and a internal vaginal ultrasound as well. I do a sub something hemorrhage on my placenta. Right now I need plenty of bed rest, and I am constantly tired. My stomach is still hurting I was given protoxin which is just like nexium but safer for the baby plus iron pills for my blood levels. At this time my husband was suppose to deploy September 29th on the 11th when I was released we found out he is now deploying in two weeks he may not have to go do to everything that is going on with me but we don't no yet till Monday. So as you can see besides being in pain I am also stressing!

That is all for now I am sorry it is so short!

Week 8 Peer Review from Unit 7

As I am writing this blog I feel really horrible I have an ulcer, my allergies are severe an the medication that doctor gave me is not working even over the counter medications aren't working. My week is starting off terrible already. Last week for unit 7 we had to post our draft to the discussion board and I really liked the feedback that was given from my peers on my paper. My main concern was making sure I got my point across. I learned that I need to work on my grammar, and my thesis is a little to wordy so I need to cut out all the extra words that don't need to be there. I also learned that my thesis was not in the right place I don't know how I didn't catch that thank god for peer review. Overall my peers broke down my paper and explained what was wrong or right and what they liked and didn't like. Actually there where no dislikes about my paper so I guess I am doing good so far. I just want to say thanks to everyone who took the time to critique my paper I really appreciate the feedback.

Unit 7 Break Down!!!!!

This week has been the worst so far Thursday I broke down crying I was so depressed I didn't want to be around my kids which has never happen to me ever. My husband is training so he isn't here,I take care of my 15 year old sister plus my 2 kids which are 4 years old and 15 months. I have no financial help from my father who is an alcoholic. I am trying to be real nice about the situation and not take him to court and on top of this managing school. My husband is leaving in September for 8 months I don't know how I am going to make it with out his help. Cleaning, cooking, taking care of my kids plus my sister and school work it's overwhelming at times but this time it really broke me I barley want to get out of bed. I constantly help others in my family but no one ever ask me if I need help. I just want me time and not just a day or two I need time for me.

Wow Week 6

Wow cant believe we are in week 6 already this is where things start to get complicated well for me at least. I am having so much trouble trying to get my paper together. I sat here for hours today writing, writing and writing I am just having trouble trying to pull it together. I know I will get it done but man I am tired of doing this paper. My topic is NCLB it is a boring read already, well some of it is interesting I am mainly focusing on the standardized testing in schools so its not as bad. I was so confused on the post outline I thought it was suppose to be a regular outline but I learned in class it wasn't I mean I guess its better then doing a regular outline. I didn't even know there where different outlines to tell you the truth but like they say you learn something new everyday!

Halfway There!

Hello Everyone

This is my 4th term and we are now halfway through which is exciting but at the same time this is where it can get difficult. In class we where talking bout pre-writing techniques which was mind boggling because I was still trying to work on my thesis never mind writing down my ideas. Time fly's by so quick so don't take it for granted or when unit 10 comes you are definitely going to struggle! PROCRASTINATION is a very BAD habit that we all do so any cleaning save for later its not like your going to have a rodent infested house just because one load of laundry didn't get done or couple of dishes didn't get washed and as far as using the kids for an excuse it does not work you signed up for college knowing you had kids so don't use it now. The reason why I am saying this is because I do all these things and maybe putting it all out there on my blog will help:) Hope you enjoy and learned a little something from reading this! Good Luck

Exhausted!

I am sorry I usually write my blogs earlier in the week but having kids and preparing for the 4th really wore me out. Oh my god for the discussion for comp. it took me close to 6 hours to finish I was so stressed and irritated I really didn't think I was going to get my initial post in on time but I did. I still have to take my quiz and answer another classmate tomorrow plus my homework for my other class but that's what college is all about..lol I swear it never ends I don't think it would be so bad if my kids where a little older. One is 4 yrs old and the other 15 months and all they want is mommy what is up with that? They are boys shouldn't they want daddy?

Don't Quit

So here we are in our third week already and I was ready to call it quits. I had so much going on in the past few days I could barely focus on the task at hand which was my school work but I am back on track now thanks to a poem that my first term teacher Mrs. Alexander ( she teaches academic stratigies) gave me. Its very inspirational and whenever I feel stressed or want to quit I sit and read it. So with that being said I would like to share it with my classmates and I hope you guys as much as it helps me!!!!

This Poem is called "Don't Quit" by Anonymous Person

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is a queer with it's twist and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a faliure turns about
When they might have won, had they stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit!

A Little Look Into My Life!

Hello Everyone

My name is Sheila and I am 27 years old. I have 2 boys JaQuari is 4 and Semaj is 1 and boy they are a handful omg I can imagine how I was when I was their age...lol Not only do I have two boys but I also take care of my 15 year old sister and she makes me never want a little girl period. I know how I was when I was her age and trying to deal with her being 15 is hard, hard, hard work but I am managing. I have a wonderful, loving, very supportive husband named Tony he is in the Marine Corps and has been in for 7 1/2 years and is going to make it a career thing so we have a good 13 years left moving from place to place every 3 years or so, which is very exciting but sometimes nerve wrecking. I am currently attending Kaplan University and I am getting my associates in human services. I was going for medical assistant until I realized I really wanted to to help people who are unable to help themselves and thats how I chose human services. I would really like to help children who are in the system and need a loving and caring family to care for them. I think it really hit me once I started taking care of my sister it was either I take her or in the system she went and that was not happening. Well I guess I wrote enough for now but do come back because where I came from and where I am at now has been a long journey and its time for me to share how far I have come. The good and the bad!
